Rules:

Driver/Passenger Rules

  • All drivers must be over the age of 18 years old with a valid drivers license.

  • Drivers are not allowed to be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol

    • Any driver found to be under the influence and/or using on site while the track is hot, will be removed from the property and banned from any future events. This includes Marijuana

  • All drivers and passengers must sign the liability consent form before participating in any driving or ride along.

    • Only roll cage equipped vehicles can have paid ride alongs.

    • Must keep their entire body within the car at all times.

    • Allowed to have media equipment (go pro, phone, cameras) as long as they are secure and do not impede driver or chase car.

    • Passengers must have a Snell 2015 or newer or DOT approved helmet approved by Precision Drift staff.

    • All passengers participating in a ride alongs are doing so at their own risk. Precision Drift does not take any responsibility or liability for injuries while participating in a ride along.

    • Driver must have long pants (jeans or fire resistant) and SNELL2015 or new helmet

    • Pit speed is 10MPH

    • All wristbands must be worn at all times

  • Precision Drift event coordinators will have a REQUIRED drivers meeting prior to the event starting.

    • If you miss the drivers meeting you take the risk of not being able to drive the event and forfeit entry fee.

Tech Rules:

  • Cars must pass Precision Drift’s technical inspection. Tech inspection sheet can be found HERE

    • Cars that fail tech inspection will not be allowed to participate in the event that day and will forfeit their entry fee.

Chassis

  • All loose items must be removed from the interior of the car (prior to tech inspection). This goes for the engine bay and under the car as well. Please secure any loose items that could become hazardous to you, spectators or other drivers.

  • Exterior Vehicles are not allowed to run without doors. Cars under repair/projects must have structural rigidity around the entire car (ex: large sections missing leaving the car vulnerable in a crash).

  • Your seat(s) must be stable and properly secured in the car.

  • No passengers will be allowed at any time during competitions

  • Cages are required for tandems involving 3 or more cars. A minimum six-point roll cage with door bars is required. Cages should be constructed with proper engineered design and welding principles in mind. Precision Drift tech inspectors will check for cracks, poorly gapped joints, bad welds, etc. Drivers are ultimately responsible for the construction and safety of the car..

  • Fire extinguishers are required for all drivers (caged and non-caged). Fire extinguishers must be securely mounted to the interior of the car and within arms reach of the driver.

  • Your vehicle must have OEM doors or door bars in place for protection on all sides. We welcome karts and other builds to our track, but for the safety of all our drivers, karts will be required to have some sort of side impact protection. This goes for all cars as well, if your car isn't structurally able to take a hit, due to either rust or previous wrecks, we may ask that you don’t drive or don’t tandem for the day (which will be at the discretion of the tech inspector).

  • All convertibles are required to have a roll bar.

  • Seat belts or harnesses are required. You MUST have either a completely functioning stock 3-point belt or at least a 4-point harness for each passenger/driver of the vehicle.

  • A tow strap/hook will need to be attached to the chassis in the front and rear of your vehicle.

    • With our current layout, being able to retrieve cars in a quick manner allows us to run the event smoothly and participants more laps per event.

Batteries/Wiring/Lighting

  • Battery Tie Downs You must have battery tie downs. Factory or aftermarket battery tie downs must be in place and functional wherever your battery is placed. They should be strong enough to keep the battery from tipping/spilling (even if you have a leak proof or solid cell). We recommend using a battery box for the best security.

  • Your Positive Battery Terminal must be covered with an OEM or better battery terminal cover.

  • Wiring must be clear of any foot or hand controls. Wires carrying voltage need to be covered by non-conductive material.

  • Tail Lights & Brake Lights must work as intended (especially for tandem).

    • Headlights must work for any night event.

    • Accent lighting must be secured properly and wiring must be out of the way of any driver controls.

Engine

  • Your car must be free of all fluid leaks: radiator, engine oil, trans/diff, power steering, brakes (S-Chassis power steering and brake fluid reservoirs must be covered to prevent overflow from heat saturation). If a leak is found to be significant enough, you will be allowed to fix the problem and be re-inspected 1 time. If the vehicle fails again, it will not be allowed to participate.

  • No Coolant allowed in any car. Water and Water Wetter (no more than half a bottle of water wetter) are the only approved coolants at OIR.

    • Any person found running coolant will not be allowed to participate in the event and no refunds will be given.

    • There is no area to change and dispose of coolant at Ozark International Raceway.

  • Exhausts with muffler/s are recommended by Precision Drift unless you have a turbo.

Suspension/Steering/Brakes

  • Suspension Ball joints, tie rods, and all other suspension components must be in good condition and free of damage or excessive play. Trucks must have modifications to prevent excessive suspension travel and body roll.

  • The steering wheel, hub, shaft and rack must be free of excessive play or binding.

  • The brake pedal must have firm pressure with low fade and brake shows, pads and rotors must perform as intended with minimal wear and no damage.

  • All Lug Nuts must be in place and tight. Please be sure you are running the appropriate lug for your wheel and stud.
